There are 643 new Coronavirus infections in Sicily out of 18,040 swabs processed in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate is around 3.6%. Data almost stable compared to yesterday, when there were 606 cases and a rate of 3.2%. The island today, unlike yesterday, is not the first for the number of new infections: at the top is Lombardy, which surpasses it with 765 cases. Hospitalizations are starting to decrease again, -30 places occupied in ordinary wards. This is what emerges from the data released by the bulletin of the Ministry of Health.
Today 18 deaths are reported, the Sicily region specifies that only 4 are of today, while the others refer to the previous days. In particular, 5 to yesterday (17 September), 3 to 16, 2 to 15 September, 1 to 14, 1 to 11, 1 to 9 and finally another to 3 September. In total, 6691 have died in Sicily since the beginning of the pandemic.
The current positives are 20,738 (-1039 compared to yesterday), of which 19,972 in isolation and 766 patients hospitalized with symptoms. Of the hospital patients, 666 are in the ordinary wards, recording a -30 compared to yesterday, and 100 are in intensive care (+1), of which 7 are new entrants today.
At the level of the spread of infections by provinces, Catania is the one that registers the most cases today: there are 206. Following: Palermo 141, Messina 119, Caltanissetta 48, Syracuse 41, Trapani 37, Ragusa 32, Agrigento 19. No new ones are recorded. case in Ennese.
In Italy, the number of new positives has increased slightly and are 4,578 cases in the last 24 hours (+26 positives compared to yesterday’s data) but with an increase in the number of processed swabs: 355,933 were made (+71,354 compared to the previous 24 hours). The positivity rate drops, in fact, to 1.3% compared to 1.6% yesterday.
The number of deaths is 51 (yesterday 66) and brings the number of victims since the beginning of the pandemic to 130,284.
The hospital pressure continues to decrease with ordinary admissions that are 3,958 (-31) and admissions to intensive care which are 519 (-6) with 31 admissions of the day (yesterday 34).
