On the Covid front in Sicily the highest incidence was recorded in the last seven days: to say it is the draft of weekly monitoring on the epidemic from Covid-19 under examination by the control room set up with experts from the Ministry of Health and the Higher Institute of Health . The Island, together with the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and Calabria, is among the realities that record this week the highest value relating to the incidence of Covid-19 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, even if today there is a decrease: from 4.7% to 3.2%. Within the last twenty-four hours, another 602 cases have been registered on the island, compared to 18,758 swabs processed. Consequently, infections are falling, but the region remains the one with the highest number at national level.
The cases on the island
The island remains in the lead again, therefore, for new daily infections, followed in second place by Tuscany with 494. The current positives are 21,777 with a decrease of 943 cases. The healed are 1,529 while there are 16 other victims that bring the total deaths to 6,673. On the hospital front there are now 795 hospitalized, 1 less than yesterday while in intensive care there are 99, the same number as yesterday.

On the contagion front in the individual provinces, the situation is as follows: Palermo 118, Catania 75, Messina 125, Syracuse 87, Ragusa 54, Trapani 91, Caltanissetta 23, Agrigento 19, Enna 10.

On the national level, there are 4,552 Covid test positives identified in the last 24 hours. Yesterday there were 5,117. There are 66 victims in one day, one more than yesterday. There are 284,579 molecular and antigenic swabs for the coronavirus carried out in the last 24 hours in Italy, according to data from the Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 306,267. The positivity rate is 1.6%, stable compared to yesterday. Since the beginning of the pandemic there are 4,627,699 cases, 130,233 deaths. The discharged and healed are instead 4,383,195 (yesterday 4,376,646), with an increase of about 6,500 compared to yesterday, while the currently positive ones are 114,271 (yesterday 116,342), with a decrease of 2,071 cases in the last 24 hours.
