“There is no cash on the skin of workers”, “the dignity of workers is not subject to reductions”, “a public university does not produce unemployment but inclusion”. These are some of the signs shown during the protest of the workers of the outsourced services of the Roma Tre University which, with the change of contract decided by the University, risk cuts in salaries and layoffs. In all 119 people who deal with the concierge and auxiliary services, the 60% of them belong to disadvantaged categories.

So the workers gave life to a procession that wound up to the Rectorate to ask for the protection of employment and salary levels, according to the union jeopardized by the new contract. “It is a shame that the public university underestimates inclusion so much and disregards the comparison with those who represent them” – thunders the FP CGIL.

“We do not accept a pejorative change of contract and no obligation on the social clause, which guarantees current employment levels, contractual conditions and existing economic treatments. We await the meeting, before it is too late, continuing to ask for the withdrawal of the notice in self-defense. We will oppose in every way the destruction of a path of socio-working integration which in the social coop CCNL finds its natural dimension of protection. They are male and female workers who need an adequate contractual framework and which allows dialogue with the ASL and local services for the adoption of specific programs of recovery, accompaniment, tutoring and for autonomy “. The trade union organization asks for a confrontation and announces the protest to the bitter end: “A public body cannot speculate on work or raise money from workers, especially if they are disadvantaged”.
