Two people in prison, five under house arrest and for two the investigating judge ordered the residence obligation. These are the numbers of the operation of the police headquarters of Pordenonis between Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto, which also led to the searches of 21 suspects in a state of freedom. All active in the wholesale and retail sale of narcotic substances such as hashish and cocaine, destined for the “market squares” of the North East provinces. The operation was conducted by the Mobile team of Pordenone in collaboration with colleagues from other provinces and the help of canine units.
The investigations began at the beginning of the year when over 10 kilograms of hashish and 100 grams of cocaine were seized from a 43-year-old Maghreb citizen, residing in Pordenone and convicted, who was arrested on January 15. The man had been stopped for a checkup. Since that operation the police have rebuilt the channels and the supply chain of a vast and articulated network composed of Moroccan citizens, all residing in the province of Pordenone, wholesalers, brokers and retail pushers, active between Pordenone, Udine and Treviso. A network that from 2020 had a kilo of hashish and 100 grams of cocaine available per week. In addition to that of Pordenone, the mobile teams of Venice, Treviso, Belluno, Gorizia, Udine and Trento, the crews of the Crime Prevention Departments from Milan and Padua, the dog unit of the Padua and Bologna Police and the Scientific Police of Pordenone and Padua.
