GLP, one of the main investors and developers of logistics warehouses and distribution parks, has completed the off-market acquisition of a logistics building of 27 thousand square meters in Santa Palomba, near Rome, for approximately 15 million euros. The acquisition was carried out by the “Augustus” alternative real estate fund, fully subscribed by GLP and managed by Kryalos sgr. The Grade A property located in a strategic position in the Rome market was sold by Orchidea Srl, an Italian developer who built it for the current tenant, Carrefour.
«This acquisition, completed thanks to a great team work – said Roberto Piterà, Country Director of GLP Italia – strengthens our position in the Rome market. With the Santa Palomba asset we have rebalanced our portfolio, increasing its stake in the capital, where our Anagni and Colleferro assets are already present. This transaction demonstrates our keen interest in the Italian market, where our strategy is to acquire and develop quality logistics properties, with excellent connections to the main transport routes and located within the main logistics hubs throughout the country. We are pleased to welcome Carrefour to our Italian portfolio ».
“There is great interest on the part of international investors – said Paolo Bottelli, managing director of Kryalos sgr – in logistics in Italy, in particular in relation to quality assets, located in strategic positions in the main logistics hubs of the country, well connected and with potential for further development and enhancement “.
“The Santa Palomba operation – concludes Gianluca Sinisi, Engel & Völkers Commercial license partner – makes us proud to have supported GLP and Kryalos in the acquisition of a new platform in the south of Rome, confirming the great interest of institutional investors in towards logistics, an asset class that over the years is establishing itself as a strategic world-wide ».
