The contagion curve is still falling in Sicily: there are 684 new cases of Coronavirus on the island in the last 24 hours on 21,800 swabs and the positivity index drops to 3.1% (yesterday it was 5%). This is what emerges from the bulletin of the Ministry of Health. Yesterday there were 618 new cases out of 12,307 swabs processed. There are also hospitalizations, both ordinary and in intensive care, while there are 24 deaths but as has been happening for weeks now, the Sicilian Region makes it known that these are deaths that occurred in recent days. 1,170 people recovered in the last 24 hours.
There are currently 25,504 positives on the island of which 772 hospitalized, 99 in intensive care and 24,633 in home isolation. The healed rise to 257,900, while the deaths to 1,614. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 290,013 people have been infected by Covid.
At the provincial level, 93 cases are registered in Palermo, 206 in Catania, 149 in Messina, 64 in Syracuse, 28 in Ragusa, 60 in Trapani, 8 in Caltanissetta, 28 in Agrigento and 48 in Enna.
Nationally, the epidemic curve is still decreasing: there are 4,021 new cases, against 2,800 yesterday (but like every Monday, buffers and positives are halved) and above all the 4,720 recorded on Tuesday, confirming a trend of decline on a weekly basis around at 15%.
On the other hand, deaths increased, 72 (yesterday 36), however with various recoveries dating back to other dates. The victims since the beginning of the epidemic exceed 130,000, 130,027 to be exact.
The slow decline in hospitalizations is also confirmed: intensive care units are 9 fewer (yesterday +4) with 29 admissions on the day (this figure is also clearly slowing down) and drop to 554, while ordinary hospitalizations are 35 fewer (yesterday +87), 4,165 in total. There are 318,593 swabs, almost 200,000 more than yesterday, so much so that the positivity rate falls to 1.3%, one point less than yesterday.
The region with the most cases today is still Sicily, although declining for several days, with 684 infections, followed by Lombardy (+435), Veneto (+427), Lazio (+326) and Emilia Romagna (+314). The total cases thus rise to 4,613,214. The healed increased to 7,501 (yesterday 4,186) for a total of 4,360,847 since the beginning of the pandemic. The number of people currently positive is still decreasing: 3,564 fewer (yesterday -1,430), and there are 122,340 in all, of which 117,621 in home isolation.
