Weather: NEXT WEEK, first COLD VORTICES attack ITALY. EFFECTS and TREND until END OF SEPTEMBER
Cold vortexes from the Atlantic filled with precipitation are coming next weekThe first real turning point of the season could come in the course of next week. To this day we are still experiencing weather conditions that are more late in summer than in autumn, but be careful because Italy, just in conjunction with the start of the new season, could be attacked by a series of cold swirls downhill from the Atlantic Ocean.
But let’s go in order, analyzing the latest updates to better understand the expected effects by then drawing one trend up to end of September.
A premise is necessary. At this time of year, between Greenland and Iceland, a zone of semi-permanent low pressure, a kind of “perturbation machine“which is stationed at high latitudes and which, on several occasions, sends those unstable impulses which subsequently interact with the hot and humid currents rising from North Africa, often causing meteorological upheavals.
Well, in the course of the next week in fact, a sort of highway will open that will allow the unstable Atlantic fronts to reach Western Europe, and therefore also Italy, without particular obstacles.
In detail, the arrival on the Mediterranean basin of a cyclonic vortex filled with cold and unstable air is expected from Tuesday 21 September and it would involve, if confirmed, not only the triggering of a phase bad weather not to be underestimated, but also a drop in temperatures with thermal values that would even be a few degrees below the reference climatic averages.
the rainfall, even in the form of a thunderstorm downpour, would first hit the North, to then extend to the rest of the country.
According to the American GFS model this could be the trend also for the last days of September when our country will be found on the trajectory of new disturbed cold impulses downhill from the Atlantic: in short, it would seem that the time has come definitive change of season.
We will keep you posted.
Next week: the time has come for the definitive change of season
