The Tar of Lazio Ryanair “ball” (and many other airlines that implement the same policies). On the part of the TAR, in fact, a sharp “no” at extra costs to parents and carers for the assignment of a seat on the plane next to minors or the disabled. Many carriers, in fact, now also charge for seat selection: a very low-level trick to push people to pay something more in order not to travel far from their loved ones, even worse, as in the case of the sentence, if disabled or children.
The “no” was reiterated by the Lazio TAR in an order with which the judges have rejected the requests made by Ryanair, after the publication last July of the new ENAC Technical Regulations for the allocation of seats for minors (from 2 to 12 years old), disabled people and persons with reduced mobility (PRM) close to their parents and / or carers.
With the provision, ENAC established that all operating airlines in Italy they must guarantee, from the booking / purchase stage of the air ticket, children between the ages of 2 and 12 will be assigned seats close to their parents or adult companion with whom they travel, in the same class, at no additional cost. And if this is not possible, the children must find a place in the same row of seats, no more than one row away from the accompanying person; ditto for people with disabilities or reduced mobility accompanied by someone.
