The right foot of the Swede decided in the 78th minute, for the Venetians only a real chance with Simeone
An unmemorable match, with few chances and all the quality players not exactly in their best day. Bologna wins 1-0, thanks to a play by Svanberg in the final, who draws the winning conclusion with his right foot. Important success for Bologna, which appeared more brilliant in the final, while the Venetians were unable to offer any reaction. Indeed, it was Skov Olsen and Arnautovic (sensational mistake) who missed the double.
Soriano lights up in only one circumstance (outside pole), Barrow continues in his involution (left in the corner from a very favorable position), Arnautovic struggles against Gunter (but is still fundamental in the action of the goal, like the excellent Dominguez) and Orsolini on the right the scene is silent. However, Bologna seems more square defensively (the Bonifazi-Medel couple convinces, waiting for Theate). Quite flat script for Verona: a couple of Caprari’s flashes, a slightly out-of-the-box header from Simeone and a never incisive Barak. And if the changes added little for Di Francesco, Hongla was even harmful, losing the ball that triggered the goal. There seems to be a little lack of quality: Veloso’s return will help in this sense, but the feeling is that Verona, which also lost Zaccagni, is still missing a finalizer.
