It’s time to go back to class for the children and young people of Milan. And, in order not to leave anyone behind, in NoLo, in the district north of Loreto, the solidarity collection of school materials for the most needy families who live between via Padova and Casoretto has started. An initiative coordinated by the QuBì Loreto association, in collaboration with 4 local realities, aimed at helping those who cannot buy their children pencils, colors, notebooks and many other stationery items, essential to start the new school year without disparity.
“We are proud to reactivate the solidarity collection for the third consecutive year – says Luca Rossetti, one of the coordinators of the active program in NoLo and in other 22 areas of Milan to combat child poverty in all its forms – After the success of the past, this year we managed to involve a new reality, active until 12 September, together with the Coop in via Palmanova 69: the Bell Nett in largo Fratelli Cervi 1, managing to fill more than a dozen boxes only on Thursday ”.
For the whole month, however, the collection will continue in two other shops in the neighborhood: “Anyone interested in buying a sketchbook, a diary or simply a pack of pens can go until 30 September at the Cartoleria Gambardella, in Viale Monza. 61 and at the Papermoon del Casoretto, in Via Porpora 126 – adds Rossetti – The aim will always be to give each child a kit including all the material necessary to follow the lessons and carry out their homework in peace ”.
A simple and important gesture to support the most fragile nuclei in the area. “We are confident that these actions can become a habit in the neighborhood – underlines the coordinator -. An active element of solidarity that mobilizes the inhabitants, together with what institutions, third sector realities and voluntary work can and must do concretely on the issue of poverty of minors and families ”.
