The data of Thursday 9 September. The positivity rate was 1.9% (yesterday 2%) with 291,468 swabs. The numbers are slowly falling. In the count of the victims there are 6 previous deaths in Sicily and three in Campania. Admissions: -5. Intensive care: -6
I am 5,522 new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 5,923, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.590.941 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 59 (yesterday there were 69), for a total of 129,766 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.331.257 e 7.122 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (8,058 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 129.918, equal to -1.663 compared to yesterday (-2.206 the day before). Note that the current positives decrease for the fifth consecutive day (see minus sign in front *). A sign that bodes well.
The swabs and the scenario
I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 291.468, or 10,512 less than yesterday when they were 301,980 While the rate of positivity 1,9% (the approximation of 1.89%); yesterday it was 2%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.
Fewer infections in 24 hours than yesterday, compared to over 10 thousand fewer tampons. Good comparison with last Thursday (2 September) – the same day of the week – when they were recorded +6,761 almost with a positive rate of 2.3%: in fact today there are fewer new infections than on 2 September, with a lower case-to-test ratio (1.9% versus 2.3%). This trend (of slowing down the circulation of the virus) has been going on for several days, as can be seen immediately from the graph of the curve below. The numbers are slowly falling, explains physicist Giorgio Sestili.
An improvement can be seen on the weekly data (September 1-7), provided by the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation: -12.5% new cases compared to the previous week. For the first time since the end of June, new weekly cases are decreasing, after 9 weeks, both as absolute numbers and as a moving average of daily cases which stands at 5,644, explains Nino Cartabellotta, President of Gimbe. And the growth in hospitalizations is holding back: + 1.3% hospitalizations in the medical area (it was + 7.9% last week) and + 3.5% in intensive care (it was + 5.4% last week).
The Sicily always has the greatest number of newly infected, but even if they are more than yesterday, the figure remains below the threshold of one thousand for the fourth consecutive day: here the cases are +929 (yesterday they were +877) with a positive rate 4.8% calculated on 19,292 swabs. Follows the Lombardy
that with over 51 swabs – the highest number of regional tests of the day – has identified +663 positives (rate 1.3%). Above 500, there is only the Veneto: +530 cases with 1.4% rate. The lowest figure for Valle d’Aosta: the region has found only one new infection with 731 tampons processed and has no deaths since 14 July.
Victims are decreasing: they are 59, ten less than yesterday. Nine previous deaths were included in the calculation of the saddest figure: there are six deaths in Sicily, out of a total of 12 press releases in today’s bulletin, which relate to the period 6 September-17 July, as indicated in the note **. To these are added 3 previous deaths of the Campania, out of the 9 communicated today ***. To have zero bereavement are: Puglia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Abruzzo, Molise, Valle d’Aosta and the province of Trento. Below is the detail.
The health system
There was a slight decline in hospitalizations in the medical area and in resuscitation. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -5 (yesterday -72), for a total of 4,230 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are -6 – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered IT – (yesterday +1), bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 558, with 38 admissions to resuscitation (yesterday 38).
The vaccine doses administered are over 80 millions. Citizens who have received the second dose are over 39,2 millions (72,74% of the population over 12). Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
