He had also acted in Italy directed, among others, by Alberto Lattuada, Vittorio De Sica and Renato Castellani alongside Gina Lollobrigida, Claudia Cardinale, Sophia Loren and Stefania Sandrelli. He also had an affair with the actress Laura Antonelli.
A life for cinema
The son of a sculptor, during his high school years he had cultivated the dream of becoming a sportsman: he embarked on a film career after having participated in two successful films such as Claude chabrol in 1959 and La ciociara di Vittorio De Sica in 1960. He leaves behind unforgettable roles (acting in over 80 films, ed.), like the one in A bout de souffle (Until the last breath) by Jean-Luc Godard or flying over the sky of Venice, hanging from a helicopter, in Le Guignolo by Georges Lautner.
