More than seven months after the rumored launch on PC and an exclusive console time on Xbox Series X, The Medium has also landed on PlayStation 5 bringing with it all its strengths, but also its flaws. Let’s find out together if the DualSense is able to give further depth to the horror of the creators of Layers of Fear.
Long awaited, The Medium has put a lot of good ideas on the table – one above all carrying out the action in two dimensions simultaneously – without, however, achieving excellence due to a monotonous and poorly jolting experience. What was supposed to be the Bloober Team consecration game has arrived on PlayStation 5 in a version virtually identical to that of Xbox Series X in the structure, in the mechanics and in the performances. There is one obvious difference: support for DualSense, to which a certain centrality has been given.
Polish developers have took advantage of every single feature of the DualSense – from the speaker to the touchpad passing through the internal gyroscopes – to expand the involvement and make the interaction more immediate and instinctive. The result, while not reaching the heights of Astro’s Playroom, has nevertheless proved successful: you will know more by looking at the Video Review at the beginning of the news and reading the review of The Medium for PS5 by Marco Mottura.
