(ANSA) – ROME, SEPTEMBER 04 – A team of technicians has managed to reopen the Kabul airport, which is therefore ready to disembark aid and for flights to transport civilians: the Qatari ambassador to Afghanistan declared this, quoted by the Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera.
The diplomat said the airstrip was repaired in collaboration with the Taliban authorities.
Internal flights resumed yesterday in Afghanistan and the UN has started sending humanitarian aid through the airport of Mazar-i-Sharif in the north and Kandahar in the south. (HANDLE).
