(ANSA) – MADRID, AUGUST 05 – Spanish justice has validated the request of the Catalan regional government to maintain the curfew as an anti-Covid measure in Barcelona and other municipalities in the north-east of the Iberian country due to the high rates of contagion. This is learned from a statement from the Regional Court of Catalonia. The restriction of freedom of movement at night – valid from 1 am to 6 am – will remain in effect at least until 20 August.
In all, the Iberian media explain, there will now be 176 Catalan municipalities for which the curfew will be valid, 13 more than until now: the regional authorities have in fact asked to change the criterion according to which the situation of a municipality is high risk. Now a cumulative incidence of new cases registered in the last 7 days will be sufficient equal to more than 250 per 100,000 inhabitants, and no more than 400 per 100,000. (HANDLE).
