Tomorrow morning, Monday 2 August, Vanessa Ferrari will try to fulfill the dream of a lifetime: to conquer one Olympic medal in the free body. The 30-year-old from Orzinuovi qualified for the specialty final of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and at the hours 10:57 Italian will compete to get on the podium. There Ferrari signed the best qualification score, 14,166, and will challenge some of the top gold candidates. The other athletes in the race are Listunova (Russia), Carey (USA), Jessica Gadirova (Great Britain), Jennifer Gadirova (Great Britain), Melnikova (Russia), Murakami (Japan), Andrade (Brazil), Derwael (Belgium) and Moors (Canada). The super favorite will be absent, Simone Biles, who, due to the problems of “twisties” accused in these Games, preferred to withdraw from the competition. Vanessa Ferrari has never won an Olympic medal, despite a career of laurels, in individual and team trials, from the World Championships (gold in the general competition in Aahuhs in 2006) to the European Championships.
