PS5 and PS4, August 2021: the best games of the month

The new edition of Ghost of Tsushima, but also Godfall, King’s Bounty 2, Psychonauts 2 and Baldo: The Guardian Owls arrive in August on PS5 and PlayStation 4.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games from August 2021 its PS5 e PS4: The excellent action adventure of Sucker Punch returns with an enriched edition, which includes a new expansion and various technical improvements on the next-gen Sony console.

Godfall instead takes the reverse path by landing on PS4, while the other relevant releases of the month are King’s Bounty 2, Psychonauts 2 and Baldo: The Guardian Owls, the promising title of the Italian studio NA.PS Team that is stylistically inspired by the works of Studio Ghibli and episodes of The Legend of Zelda.

With bandits raging on the streets and new threats coming from inside and outside the borders, we will have to control a brave leader determined to restore order, managing his troops as part of a turn-based combat system, making difficult decisions and savoring the epic character of the saga.

Set after the events of Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin, Psychonauts 2 puts us in the shoes of the young acrobat Razputin “Raz” Aquato, a character with psychic powers that we will have to use in order to restore order to the organization commanded by Truman Zanotto, who seems to have changed after being kidnapped in the first chapter.

From the point of view of the gameplay the formula of the title developed by Double Fine Productions remains faithful to traditional mechanics, and will see us again visit the minds of various NPCs, jumping from platform to platform and using our skills to defeat the demons that lurk in people’s conscience .

Baldo: The Guardian Owls is the new title of the Italian studio NA.PS Team, the authors of the classic Shadow Fighter for Amiga and the Gekido series. But in this case we are talking about an adventure inspired by the atmospheres and mechanisms of The Legend of Zelda, while from the graphic point of view the references to the works of the Studio Ghibli they are very evident.

In the role of the young Baldo, a boy with a pure heart chosen by destiny to carry out an important task, we will have to move within a large open world in cel shading, complete environmental puzzles, face increasingly dangerous enemies and reveal the secrets of a world as fascinating as it is insidious.
