Fortnite Streamer Accused of Child Violence: Arrested

Known as RaulZito, the youtuber and streamer allegedly promised victims a job in the video game and television industry in exchange for sexual favors. He was arrested on July 27 in Florianópolis.

Raulino de Oliveira Maciel, a popular Fortnite streamer, was arrested for using his influence to sexually assault two children, ages 10 and 14, in Brazil. Known under the name of RaulZito, the youtuber and streamer allegedly promised victims a job in the video game and television industry in exchange for sexual favors. The influencer is a leading figure when it comes to Fortnite in Brazil, where he has over 200,000 followers on Instagram, 118,000 followers on Twitch and 144,000 subscribers on YouTube.

According to the first reconstructions, the man would have approached the young victims by exploiting his popularity as an influencer and promising him favors, a practice that would not only concern the two children aged 10 and 14 but other victims too. In the case of these two children, however, the attack would have taken place between February and May of this year. According to the mother of one of the victims, RaulZito pretended to be a character in the television industry and approached young actors or performers with job offers and promises of entry into the world of television.

According to initial reports, the abuses took place in Niteroi, in the Rio de Janeiro region, and on several occasions between February and May of this year, so much so that the victims “do not know how to order them chronologically”. The youtuber was arrested on July 27 in Florianopolis, after the authorities did not find him in his home in São Paulo. Meanwhile, the influencer network that followed him, SBT Games, has already moved away from the man, while the YouTube channel seems to have already been made private. The Twitch channel, on the other hand, is still online with all the available content, as is his Instagram profile with over 200,000 followers.
