Postponement to September for the approval by the Council of Ministers of the law delegating the Government on the tax reform.
The law delegates on Tax reform slide a September, when it will be scheduled for discussion in the Council of Ministers: this is what emerges from rumors coming directly from Palazzo Chigi. The IRPEF reform will therefore not be formalized by July but postponed to after the summer, unlike what was initially planned to remain within the time frame of the Recovery Plan. Moreover, the postponement had already been announced by the Undersecretary for the Economy, Maria Cecilia Guerra:
there is no particular delay on the path of the tax reform. The government’s commitment was to make the proxy law by the end of July and it will postpone ten days by one week but it will still be done.
=> Tax reform, Franco: fairer personal income tax, VAT reorganization
Among the measures aimed at recover evaded revenue gives reinvest in the reform of rates and brackets IRPEF (reducing the current burden that weighs heavily on the lower-middle classes), Guerra has proposed, for example, an increase in the tax burden on people who escape, particularly in the VAT (which burns 35 billion annually).
In general, the orientation is to act, as confirmed by the Minister Daniele Franco, “Shifting resources” to first achieve the set objectives, making the only resources available, which are those already allocated last year by the Budget Law, sufficient for the moment. For details, see you in September.
