Weather: EXTREME WEEKEND, ITALY Divided between INTENSE HOT and STRONG TEMPORALS with HAIL. Details SATURDAY and SUNDAY
Weather forecast for the weekendThe first big weekend of the summer exodus will be extreme. This is what clearly emerges from the latest updates of our official APP. Attention, the word “extreme” must be understood in two senses: both as intense heat, both like violent thunderstorms, hail e gusts of wind. On the other hand, the 2021 summer season has so far accustomed us to this type of alternation, especially in our northern regions.
And the upcoming weekend will certainly be no exception, with Italy being divided between the arrival of a dangerous storm front e yet another hot ascent of the African anticyclone.
But let’s go in order, analyzing the updated forecast for Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August.
Let’s face it right away: towards the weekend theAfrican anticyclone is expected in great shape e it will not let go of the Mediterranean basin. For this reason, especially al Center-South and on the two major islands, we will still be at the mercy of a heat at times oppressive and rather sultry, with peaks up to around 40 ° C (and even beyond in inland areas), especially during the day of Saturday 31 July.
Slightly different speech for the North where, between the afternoon and the evening, a storm front, arriving from France, will be able to break through the central-western Alps, greatly destabilizing the atmosphere.
Attention, due to the strong contrasts that will be created between different air masses we do not exclude the risk of extreme weather events such as hailstorms and storms that could occur, as well as on the Alps and Prealps, up to the plains from Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto e Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The phenomena will then also have repercussions in the first hours of Sunday 1st August and for a good part of the festive morning, affecting almost all the northern regions and also encroaching on the Tuscany. Mostly protected will be almost exclusively Emilia Romagna.
Few news are expected on the rest of the country, still well protected by the African anticyclone: it will therefore still be very hot especially in the south and on the two major islands, with thermal values over 40 ° C on Puglia and in the inland areas of Sicily and Sardinia.
In short, it will really be a extreme weekend, a true mirror of climate change that has been going on for several years now …
