The Covid alarm returns in the United States, not spared by the new wave of infections linked above all to the spread of the Delta variant. A boom in cases that in recent days has not spared a White House official and a member of the staff of the speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, fueling fears of new outbreaks within the buildings of the institutions. And the concern is so great that the administration led by Joe Biden, in a sort of reverse, could sensationally revise the guidelines on the use of masks in the next few hours or days, recommending again their mandatory in several cases, also for the vaccinated. After all, the latest numbers on the spread of the virus in most of the US states are to shake your wrists: cases have more than tripled in just two weeks, with a considerable increase in hospitalizations (almost doubled) and a new surge in the number of deaths, an average of 250 per day. In detail, according to the Johns Hopkins Univeristy database, the average of new daily infections rose from 13,700 on 6 July to over 37,000 on 20 July.
