(ANSA) – TUNIS, JUL 24 – “In the last three days, more than 1,500 migrants have been intercepted by the Libyan authorities”.
This is what Un Migration-IOM spokesperson Safa Msehli writes on Twitter, adding critically “the Mediterranean is one of the saddest examples of ineffective and inhuman responses to migration”.
For a long time, in fact, international organizations have shown themselves to be opposed to the fact that the Tripoli Coast Guard takes people intercepted at sea back to Libya, since according to them the Libyan reception centers do not sufficiently protect human rights. (HANDLE).
