Luisa Spagnoli, debut in the Milan calendar

A portrait of Nicoletta Spagnoli

“Parade in the official calendar is a sign of how much we believe and want to invest in our country”. Word of Nicoletta Spagnoli, since 1986 at the head of the family business. A 90% female reality founded almost 100 years ago by the great-grandmother Luisa which is looking with optimism at the recovery that has already begun a few months ago. «In the past we were on the events calendar but now with Cnmi-National Chamber of Italian Fashion we are planning a major physical event, which will be organized in compliance with all safety measures ».

How is the business going?

In 2021 with the new reopening, we began to record an increase in sales of elegant garments compared to 2019 for the same period.

When will you return to the pre-Covid volumes?

In 2019 we touched 130 million euros, and that is where we want to return. 2022 will be the year of true recovery.

Will you keep the current sales network or will you make cuts?

We have 155 boutiques in Italy and 205 in the world. We will not close any. In Italy there are all owned stores, 7 abroad, such as the one in Palo Alto in California, London, Munich, Düsseldorf, and three stores in Poland. The employees are about 800, 90% women, from style to sales. This has contributed greatly to our success.

What percentage does online represent? Will you internalize it?

Digital accounts for 5% and we are leaning on another platform, which is Triboo (they don’t want him to be named), but we’re going to bring him back home. In this way we will also be able to review our site and optimize the customer experience. Internalisation will be completed at the end of 2021. (All rights reserved)
