Nurses not vaccinated against Covid, the Order suspends 73 in Pordenone: they will not be able to work

PORDENONE. The Order of Nurses of the province of Pordenone suspended 73 nurses on Monday 19 July for not having fulfilled the vaccination obligation against Covid-19. They will not be able to carry out their profession until vaccinated or justified by the Prevention Department. In the meantime, in the Destra Tagliamento, the list of health workers who have not been vaccinated and who meet the provisions of the law is being extended.

In recent days, the AsFo Prevention Department (Western Friuli Health Authority) issued the first assessment document for 177 unvaccinated health workers residing in the province. The communication of the non-fulfillment was also made to the professional associations that must proceed, by law, with the suspension.

The Order of Nurses has so far received the notification of 74 nurses. Yesterday their position was evaluated during the extraordinary Council. “At the last moment – says the president Luciano Clarizia – a communication arrived from the Prevention Department that a nurse who works in Veneto had been vaccinated there and had not been registered”. For the others the measure was taken.

“Each of them – continues Clarizia – has been sent a Pec with which we communicated the temporary suspension from the register until they get vaccinated or prove that they cannot do it for health reasons”. Suspensions emphasized by the president can be blocked at any time “as long as there is a communication from the Department of Prevention”.

A decision taken unanimously by the directors: «We – underlines the president – have taken note of the declaration of the Department of Prevention. We have suspended them from the order and therefore they cannot carry out the profession.

I appeal to colleagues who will be notified not to carry out nursing services because they would be punishable by law ». In this first group there are employees of public and private health facilities, freelancers and retirees.

On Monday, the AsFo issued a new assessment document for operators who have not been vaccinated: a new list with 71 names of people who had to provide in the first ten days of July, but who have not fulfilled. The process that will lead to the measures required by law, demotion or suspension will now begin for them as well. Some suspended nurses are AsFo employees.

«The registration to the order is a requirement to be able to carry out the profession – affirms the general manager Joseph Polimeni -. If one is suspended, he cannot work. Problems? We have an internal management plan ». –
