Carmen Manolio and Concetta Ragone are the two very young Pascale researchers included in the shortlist of ten researchers under 40 selected nationally by Fortune Italia (www.fortuneita.com), the magazine that measures the success of a company and guarantees it, strengthens leadership and portrays the men and women behind their success.
Twenty-three years old, Manolio graduated first level, thirty years old, Ragone specializing, are the co-authors of an international study with which they have shown that the immune memory induced by viral or bacterial infections during the life of every single individual, including bacteria present in our gastrointestinal tract, can represent a natural anticancer vaccination. The research, conducted in the laboratory of Innovative Immunological Models of the Cancer Institute of Naples, directed by Luigi Buonaguro, was published in the Journal for Immunotherapy of Cancer and for the first time in the literature defines the homology between human tumor antigens and viral antigens .
