The Grande Boucle continues its march towards the south and enters the heart of Provence: so called, the Saint Paul Trois Chateaux – Nimes would seem the classic stage to be experienced in the heatwave before the final sprint.
But there are many pitfalls along the 159.4 kilometers to be covered, even if only one 3rd category GPM is reported on the Garibaldi at the halfway point. In reality, the route proposes the crossing of the Gorges de l’Ardeche, for the first time faced in their entirety by the Tour de France. What does it mean? There will simply be no plain or a straight longer than 100 meters for the first third of the race.

The ending is the same as in 2019, when Caleb Ewan won in the sprint, but the stage is decidedly more demanding and attention in the last 30 kilometers with the possibility of fans and fractures in the group. As if to say that nervousness will be a travel companion for everyone in the group.
