School, without tampons the high-risk return. The principals: such a new stop

5.3 million students will return to class tomorrow morning, or 6 out of 10 from kindergarten to high school. All in the classroom, or almost, but with old habits and therefore with the usual risks. No new indications have been provided to raise the safety threshold inside schools as well as outside institutions, where transport and gatherings must instead be controlled.
The Ministry of Education has asked the Ministry of Health to standardize the procedures within the institutions, to stop do-it-yourself. There remains a high risk that the reasons why everything has been closed may reappear soon. In fact, it has already happened for the first time in November, after a few weeks of returning to attendance, and then again in February when, despite the return being staggered from week to week in the various regions, the consequences also arrived on time until the closure. practically total in mid-March.

School towards reopening: from Lombardy to Lazio, here is who will return to the classroom on 7 April

The idea of bringing everyone back to class with a negative swab, to be repeated from week to week among the student population, is at a standstill for the moment. There have also been no changes with regard to the internal situation of the institutes: the masks are mandatory, these are surgical ones, and the distance remains one meter at the single bench. After all, it would have been impossible for the institutes to find new spaces to widen the distancing, given that more than this last September was not able to do. So, in essence, everything remains as it was.

Reopening, “from 20 cinemas and restaurants”: mid-month check based on data

Not only that, outside the institutes there is always the transport node: from tomorrow in fact, high school children will return to move in the orange areas, with a reduced percentage, and will resume moving by bus and subway. Sore point in big cities like Rome where the bus stops turn them into gathering places. According to the latest Dpcm, in fact, in the red areas one remains in attendance at 100% from kindergarten to sixth grade, from the second grade to the fifth year of high school one stays at home with 100% dad. In the orange areas, on the other hand, all schools reopen, from kindergartens to high schools, but the latter will also have online teaching because they must guarantee the presence of only a part of the students: from 50 to 75%. A reduced measure that responds not only to the need for new spaces but also to those of the overcrowding of public transport. The staggered entrances remain two: one at 8 and one at 10.

Covid: mayor Palermo asks for more restrictive measures, ‘worrying data’

“We have not had any information on tracking for students – explains Antonello Giannelli, president of the National Association of Principals – there is no initiative in this sense and I fear that the problem lies in the difficulty of the logistical organization to make swabs. . Not much has changed in terms of public transport either. There is the fear of finding ourselves having to close everything again, a new stop that would block everything again. This is why we are ready to incorporate any new rules should the CTS decide to give them ».

The results will be seen in a few weeks. Meanwhile, the ministry of education has asked the ministry of health to start standard procedures, the same for everyone, if a positive case occurs within a classroom by starting swab checks. Just avoid the inconvenience in schools. «The only positive news we have compared to the past weeks – continues Giannelli – is the vaccination plan for school staff: it is progressing and has reached a good percentage. But the vaccines of the general population, therefore of the families of our students, are still too far behind. The infections will continue to exist, also due to the variations, so I understand the hesitation of the Regions ». In fact, there are discontent: the Regions that return to class with the highest number of students are Lazio, Lombardy and Campania. The Puglia Region has decided, as in the past, to allow families to choose between online and face-to-face lessons. Students will ask for the activation of distance learning even where in theory it is not foreseen.
