Milan, die overwhelmed by the combine harvester. The last call: they hit us

They were found lifeless south of Milan, in a corn field that runs along the West ring road. On the bodies of the two girls who disappeared in the San Donato countryside there were signs compatible with the heavy vehicle investment which, however, has not been found at the moment. The hypothesis is that it is one harvester. The searches were started on Friday morning, after a SOS arrived at 112. At about 11.30, a young woman had contacted the emergency number saying in Arabic that she was in a corn field on the border with San Donato Milanese with a friend and that both had just been run over by a combine harvester.

Overwhelmed by the combine harvester, the call

The young woman, who had not given her personal details to the operators, said that her friend was dead, while she was very seriously injured. A dynamic that has now been confirmed by the discovery of the mangled bodies.
During the call, the line went out: probably the woman’s phone was discharged, since from that moment it was no longer reachable by the operators who tried to contact him several times. The searches started immediately after the request for help. The carabinieri of the company of San Donato used the helicopters of the 118 and 2 Nucleo Elicotteri Carabinieri of Orio al Serio and searched the area in the open countryside where the young woman’s cell phone had been located.

The carabinieri had asked the prefecture of Milan to activate the search plan for missing persons, which involves carabinieri, firefighters, with some dog units, and the Civil Protection. The young women have been identified: they are two women of 32 and 28 years of Moroccan origin, whose family members have been notified.
The Lodi Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the case, which ordered an autopsy on the corpses. “While we investigate to try to clarify the contours of the story and to identify the person responsible, we will also work – explained the chief prosecutor, Domenico Chiaro – to try to understand why these two women were there”.
