5-11 July: A new comeback of the anticyclone, fed by masses of hot air, affects the Mediterranean basin but in particular the central-southern regions with stable weather and temperatures well above the average. Infiltrations of fresh Atlantic air, on the other hand, reach Northern Italy bringing rainfall. Europe is dominated by a bloc regime with highs centered between the Baltic and Scandinavia.
12-18 July: the scenario proposed by Ecmwf, with geopotential peaks between Central Europe and Scandinavia, may also be compatible with an anticyclone extending from the mid-Atlantic to the north-east. We could therefore expect summer weather conditions in Italy with temperatures above average; however, the lack of a solid anticyclonic structure precisely on the Mediterranean would suggest the possibility of unstable notes with diurnal evolution, in particular on the central southern Apennines and the eastern Alps.
July 19-25: as in the previous period, the peaks of geopotential at 500 hPa are expected by Ecmwf in central and northern Europe according to a block regime. This scenario may also be compatible with the sub-tropical anticyclone stretching from the mid-Atlantic towards central-northern Europe to also involve Italy. Sun and summer climate on the Peninsula with some undulations affecting Northern Italy with instability in particular on the Alpine circle. Temperatures above average.
