(ANSA) – KINSHASA, 01 JUL – Covid is spreading in Africa at a record pace with the Delta variant becoming increasingly popular: for six consecutive weeks the infections have risen, growing by a quarter every 7 days until reaching last week’s 202,000 and deaths jumped 15% in 38 African countries. To raise the alarm on a continent like Africa where only 1.2% of the population has completed the vaccination cycle, is the World Health Organization. “The speed and scope of the third African wave are unprecedented,” said Matshidiso Moeti, WHO regional director for Africa.
