None all tickets sold to UK residents starting from 00.00 on June 28th for the Olympic stadium, for the quarter-final of the Ukraine-England European Football Championships scheduled for Saturday evening in Rome at 9 pm, e mandatory block on the sale and transferability of tickets by 9pm today, July 1st.
The decision was made by the Department of Public Security together with Uefa that accepted the requests from Italy to avert any risk of contagion from Delta variant linked to the arrival of fans from the UK.
The Delta variant – which is becoming prevalent in Italy – is more contagious than the Alpha variant, so far prevalent in our country: and this was already considerably more contagious than the original version of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The decision against the danger of Delta variant outbreaks
This is a protocol connected to the containment of the pandemic emergency relating to public participation in the sporting event, also developed on the basis of the information provided by the Italian authorities, coordinated by the police chief Lamberto Giannini.
In particular – as explained above – with reference to the current regulatory regime regarding those who have stayed or passed through the United Kingdom in the last 14 days, a particular ticketing policy which provides for the mandatory blocking of the sale and transferability of tickets by 9 pm on Thursday and the cancellation of tickets sold to residents of the United Kingdom starting from 24 hours on 28 June.
The Department of Public Security, in addition to putting in place measures to guarantee public order and safety, has ordered rigorous checks to verify timely compliance with the provision adopted by UEFA.
