A clandestine gambling den in the Chinatown area where several Chinese citizens were playing. This is what was discovered in the morning by the soldiers of the provincial command of the financial police of Milan, suspicious of the presence of internal lighting in a Chinese restaurant that has long been closed to the public.
Entering the club, the financiers heard an excited shouting coming from the upper floor and so they found the underground gambling den with seven Chinese intent on playing a heated game of poker. On the card table was a large sum of cash and numerous chips.
In other rooms the financiers then found a second poker table, a table used for the Chinese game of mahjong, other chips and several decks of cards still sealed. The presence of the specific equipment has led us to believe that the gambling activity between Chinese citizens has been carried out for some time in the public place. The premises used as a clandestine gambling den and more than 11 thousand euros in cash were seized. The seven perpetrators – all men between the ages of 20 and 30 – were charged with the crime of “gambling in a place open to the public”.
